J. Randall's
After years of working in the food business, working with food as a side job culinary school
and lots of encouragement from friends I started my own catering business 2003. I use my
family's recipes, some of my own and some I get from friends too. I heard a phrase awhile
back and I really like it. It seems to sum up what I want to do with my business. The phrase
goes like this:

"Some people have Soundtracks to their lives,
I have a Menu!"

Food can be such a HUGE part of a person's memories. I mean, how many times have you
been walking along and a smell brings back a memory that just hits you in  the heart? My
grandmother and her cooking are very strongly linked in my memories. I remember, when I
was growing up in Stone Mountain Georgia, my grandmother would always have a crowd
turn out to her parties and social gatherings at church. Anytime they found out she was
bringing food they would show up in droves. I asked her one day how come so many people
came to eat her food. She said "Well I think its because I  make sure it tastes as good as it
looks. If I won't eat it why should they?" Well I definitely understood that, from helping her
eat all kinds of "experiments" in the kitchen. Honestly, I don't think I ever had anything of
hers that wasn't wonderful. She told me one time, "You know the best compliment a cook
can get is a clean plate!" I have to admit seeing a clean plate does make me feel good about
what food I make.

Armed with that knowledge I strive to create something that not only the customer is
satisfied with, but I am happy to present to them as well.
After all if I won't eat it,
why should they?
